Judith Hoechst, Esq.
Assisted Reproduction, Surrogacy & Family Formation Attorney
More than 25 years of legal experience

- Personal experience
With her law office in the Denver metro area, Judith has represented clients in Assisted Reproductive Technology law and the complex issues related to family formation since 2010. Caring for infants, children and their parents has always been the focus of her dual professional careers. Prior to and while attending law school Judith worked as a Pediatric ICU nurse, a Pediatric and Adolescent Oncology nurse, and a Level IV NICU nurse at several children’s hospitals. For many years she continued to work on weekends in a Level IV NICU while maintaining a busy law practice.
Having experienced infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss, Judith was able to have a family through assisted reproduction and with a surrogate carrying her second child. Finding her surrogacy experience to be life-changing, she changed the focus of her law practice from medical negligence and massive tort litigation to Assisted Reproductive Technology and Family Formation Law.
Who We Represent
Judith provides personalized reproductive legal services for every part of the family formation & surrogacy process. She represents domestic and international clients from every walk of life who are intended parents via surrogacy, recipient intended parents via donated gametes (ova, sperm) and donated embryos, gestational and traditional surrogates, and ova, sperm or embryo donors.
Judith has been admitted by examination to the State Bars of Colorado, New Mexico, and Ohio and represents heterosexual or LGBTQ+ clients.

Birth hospital liaison
In the months prior to a surrogate delivery, Judith contacts appropriate personnel at the birth hospital and facilitates an introduction to the intended parents, surrogate, and her partner/spouse. She submits a scanned copy of the signed court Order determining parentage to the appropriate hospital personnel so that the birth hospital is well aware of who the intended parents are prior to labor and delivery of their child and that their names will be placed on their baby’s birth certificate. This is a notable stress reducer for intended parents.
